Where is "Favorite" in iPhone Photos app in iOS 18?

Right under people there is pinned Collection it is in there

Not in it. Try looking below it in the list. Then hold and drag to the place in the list that you want it to be.

I was able to restore the Favorites album by enabling Pinned Collections but….really? Come on Apple, what’s the point?

I love the redesign of Photos and have let Apple know.

I just created a folder called “1” and saved all my favourites into it. At least I can find them now in WhatsApp. Top of the folder list beneath shared folders.

Who designs these updates? it’s like the developers all use android phones

Thought about that too, but think about it, won't we have to continue to move any "favorited" photos moving forward into this created Album Labeled "Favorites"? I doubt it'll sync up Automatically you know what I mean? I tried multiple things guys, and after playing with "Customize & Reorder" I found that the only solution is to keep Favorites in the "Pinned Collections" for good. No choice. Just think of the Favorite folder called "Pinned Collections now". That's what I'm doing. I unchecked most all the boxes in "Customize & Reorder" but left Pinned Collections Checked (up Top 1st) and Albums checked (showing 2 in order).

Recent Photos (stays up top no matter what, so leave unchecked in Albums or you're just doubling up. The only other suggestion I would add is placing Videos in Pinned Collections after Favorites.

I just wish they'd leave the few software options that work and START working on all the bugs in these iOS updates like the "Double Word" popups when using Audio Text or better yet, FIX AUTO-CORRECT Geez.

And that is easier than just rearranging the screen using the customize feature and moving Favorites to the top?

Let me just add that "Utilities" seems like a strange place for a Favorites album/folder (or is it "Pinned Collections", or is it both?). We'll see how it goes when I upgrade. I'll have to let my spouse know. She couldn't find her favorites a couple days about when we were out with friends. That's why I'm looking this up now.

I assume you found all the ways of managing Favorites, including holding your finger on the Photos icon on the Home screen and tapping Favorites on the floating menu.

This was all covered in What’s new in iOS 18 - Apple Support, but hardly anyone reads Release Notes even when there is a link to it on the Update page.

Click the up/down arrow in the left corner and select "favorites".

It is under Pinned Collections. when you click on "Customize and reorder", you will see "pinned collection".

Drag that to the top and there will be your "Favorites" folder.

You will find it enlightening to read the rest of the 5 pages of the thread you just added to.
