I don’t understand that move Favorites to the middle of nowhere in Photos App. I use it every time when I open App. Now I need to scroll and find it. How bad was that decision by Apple Developers’ Team?

To the person that responded to my last message be for real you think I don’t know that you didn’t make the update stop it. I was just saying in general please bring back the old version
Telling people here that you think Apple should bring back the old version, beyond whatever catharsis it affords you, is pointless. Apple doesn't read here for feedback or suggestions. You can, however, let them know your thoughts using the feedback link provided. May Athena watch over you and give you wisdom.
It’s available under pinned collection if you scroll down the photos. The real issue is that favorites are not available for selection in WhatsApp or any other apps such as GuruShots that showed favorites under albums for upload.
The iOS 18 photo layout is a big step backwards. Ive had the update for months and I still can’t navigate it effectively. Why would my favorites be so difficult to find? The old way was so much easier.
"Favorites" is now located under "Pinned Collections."
This is a major booboo. Now when using third party apps, which recognize albums, "Pinned Collections" are not options.
So you a left to scroooooolllllllll...
Create a new "Album."
Or wait for Apple to consider this blunder and fix it.

And how do you do that if you can’t find the photos?
Nonsequitur. Moving the Favorites folder to a different location has nothing to do with finding photos.
I have no trouble finding any or all of my 2,500 photos.
Why not put it as an option in the “customize and reorder” section so I can put it where it’s useful. This way I don’t have to go “digging” just to find it.
Apple seriously didn’t think this through.
This is the worst update I've ever seen . I like simple clean lines and the new photos app is seriously giving me anxiety . Why change something that worked perfectly before . This is a crowded ugly mess. I don't want my entire library to pop up when I open photos . I liked my
clean little square boxes . Terrible terrible idea . And favorites is the album I share the most. Tell me how is having to search for it everytime is helping .

Im moving to Android if this isnt fixed soon!
Great idea! I'm sure that an Android phone will be absolutely perfect, and you will never have any complaints with how its features are implemented! As this is a user-to-user forum, no one here cares how you throw your money around.
But it might be more effective to learn how to use the new Photos app, as hundreds of people who have posted in the thread you just added to have done.
There are many ways to put Favorites exactly where you want it using the Customize features in the new app. And here’s the best news: You can access Favorites from the HOME screen directly; hold your finger on the Photos icon and select Favorites from the floating menu that appears.

That is exactly why I am avoiding the upgrade. I don't want to have to re-index and move over 300 albums. My wife's update didn't change her albums at all but she only had the 6 that I previously mentioned.
On a positive note, I have been coaching several friends as to how to use the new photos app since none had paid attention to the fact that they had updated to IOS 18 automatically until they looked closer and usually after I asked if they had! HA HA. Since I have watched several tutorials on how to use the new app I am comfortable sharing instructions with others. I use my wife's phone as a model. But my phone still remains in the "past".
Well, you can avoid the upgrade as long as you don’t mind leaving your iPhone vulnerable to any new malware that is blocked by the update and future updates.

Yes, it can be a total disaster for anyone who doesn’t learn how to use the improved photo app, but by taking 5 minutes to learn the results will no longer be a disaster, but you may come to appreciate the greatly improved features of the new Photos app→Customize the Photos app on iPhone - Apple Support

Photos changed for the worse, if it works DONT change it.
As I already posted several times in the thread that apparently did not read before adding to it, If you take a few minutes to learn about the significant improvements in the Photos app you might see that it is a change for the better→Customize the Photos app on iPhone - Apple Support. I certainly find it highly configurable, and much easier to use. It did take about 5 minutes to learn, however.
