If I have face recognition but for got my pass code

My husband If has face recognition but for got his pass jow can he log in without resetting his phone

Unfortunately, you can't. If face recognition isn't working and you forgot your passcode, you will need to reset your phone.

If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled or unavailable -
