CarPlay not working after iOS 18.3.2 update

My phone was updated to iOS 18.3.2 last night and ever since my apple car play won’t work. My car recognises the device through wireless Bluetooth however I’m not able to use apple car play. This happened before and resolved with an update but now I’m back to square one

my fix - it works again in the meantime - worked the following:

on iphone: delete/forget the car in BLUETOOTH. Next: delete Wlan (car) in WLAN settings. Do a Power/rest (the one with the tricky loud/silent followed by right button) stuff

oon/in car: delete iphone. optionally do a reset of the processor unit of the car (in a BMW it works with pressing the power/mute button for 30sec). At the end scan for new mobile and connect the phone again via carplay …

for me it still works

Here’s a couple of steps that worked for me when CarPlay stopped connecting after an iOS update:

Restart both your iPhone and Car: Sometimes, a simple reboot of both devices can fix any temporary connection issues.

Forget and Reconnect the Car’s Bluetooth: Go to Settings > Bluetooth on your iPhone, tap the “i” next to your car’s name, and select “Forget This Device.” Then, reconnect it by pairing the devices again.

Check CarPlay Settings: Make sure that CarPlay is enabled on your iPhone. Go to Settings > General > CarPlayand see if your car is listed. If it is, tap on it and select “Forget This Car,” then try reconnecting again.

Check for Updates: Sometimes, an iOS update can cause temporary bugs, but Apple usually rolls out fixes quickly. Make sure you're on the latest version of iOS by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

Reset Network Settings: If all else fails, you can try resetting your network settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset and choose Reset Network Settings. Keep in mind this will reset Wi-Fi passwords, Bluetooth connections, and VPN settings, so you'll need to reconfigure them.

Check your Car's System: Make sure your car’s software is up to date as well. Some cars need firmware updates to fully support the latest iOS versions.

If you’ve tried all of this and it still isn’t working, it might be worth reaching out to Apple Support or your car’s dealership to see if they have any additional suggestions or if there’s an issue with the update itself.

Same here... I have iphone mini 12 with ios 8.3.2 and I drive a BYD Dolphin. Previously (7 months of ownership), I have never encountered any issue with the apple carplay. But since 8.3.2, I have encountered connection issues twice. Tried forgetting device and re-pairing without any success. The only that works in both situations I encountered were : restarting both my iphone and resetting my infotainment system.

My iPhone 13 was working fine tell the up date 18.3. My iPhone 11 and my daughter iPhone 14 worked just fine. I also took my phone to Best Buy and I also brought my 2023 car back to the dealership to make sure it wasn’t my navigation. I was ready to just get a new phone. I did one more thing I got a cord on Amazon that said CarPlay cord and I made sure it said compatible with my (iPhone 13) it must say CarPlay

I was experiencing the loss of corded CarPlay with my 16 pro max and running 18.3.2 but it was intermittent then stopped all together. I tried to buy a wireless CarPlay adapter off amazon and same thing worked for awhile solid, sporadic then completely nothing. So I said f it I went years without it and use Bluetooth to do everything. My phone connects thru Bluetooth to my car but sometimes it will say it’s connected and play but nothing comes over the speakers. This I found I needed to forget the device on my phone and car and reconnect everything was the fix (tried various combos of forgetting, disabling and power cycling).

A friend’s 14 was acting the same as mine, cables would charge and CarPlay worked intermittently on my car for corded CarPlay and the wireless adapter.

Well today $115 later the dealership told me nothing was wrong and one of their techs had a 12 on 18.3.2 that works but the 14,15 and 16 that were tried were not functional running that. They would not connect to the wireless adapter because it was after market :-/ but after the update and 2 days at the dealership I was able to connect to wireless CarPlay. If it wouldn’t have worked I was about to go to Apple and have them revert my phone back three iOS versions so I could have CarPlay back. So fing frustrating!
