Mail App edit button has been disappeared from my iPad after last update

Same issue. The two finger and hold seems to work. There is a reason I don’t do auto update. I’ve updated this current iPad twice, never again. Not sure what my next tablet will be but it won’t be an Apple product. Their software is regressing to where Windows 7 was years ago. Updates two and three times a month? Makes me wonder if Microsoft has an interest in Apple these days.

See tomc1944‘s comment of 2 January 2025 — it works. I’ve used it at least once daily since I read it & is all we have while we await Apple’s permanent fix.

Mine works again. Pretty sure an auto update came thru yesterday or the day prior (alert disappeared when I opened my iPad for something else, so I'm not 100% certain). It was only a problem on THIS, somewhat older, 7th Generation iPad. All my other Apple devices, which end in "Pro" (even an older one, which no longer updates) work fine. In my opinion, THIS iPad never should've gotten this last update. It can't "handle" it. Apps keep crashing.

Scratch that. The edit button is gone again! 😫

And my Apple news is blank. (Won't load)

And "Microsoft To Do" keeps crashing.

And my battery percentage level was incorrect at least 2X now - until I unplugged and then re-plugged the iPad into the charger.

And when I try to do a search, by date range, in one of my three email boxes, it searches the wrong email address.

Several weird glitches! (Since the last software update). But ONLY on my seventh generation iPad.

My edit button disappeared yesterday i use outlook on ipad It happened before then after 2 days came back its very frustrating to have to delete them one by one i wish i knew what was going on and when it will be sorted

The “two fingers” tip worked for me - thanks for that - and miraculously the Edit function reappeared (after I had manually deleted 174 junk messages). I updated my iPad to iOS 18.3.1 this morning and have spent the entire day sorting out this and other problems. Off topic, but there’s another Mail misbehaviour: intermittent “account error” messages when I attempt to update mailboxes. Another downward swipe fixes this but it’s a total pain. The account settings are correct, of course. My long time admiration for Apple tech is wilting…

I have the same issue but only on my iPad. My phone still shows the edit and select all options.

Tried closing app. Tried powering down iPad. Tried both together. Edit button only shows for folders, not individual messages. Hope they fix SOON!

Since new update, the edit button on iPad inbox is now gone…treed to reboot but still no edit button….sorry I did the update. What can I do ? Is there any way to get it back?

Yes, on phone the edit button still there. So annoying.
