Mail Notifications Broken on iOS 18.2?

Is anyone else having issues with Mail notifications on iOS 18.2? I'm only getting notification badges—no banners or notifications on the lock screen. I've double-checked my settings and even disabled notification categories, but still no luck. Screenshots of my settings are included. Any ideas?

Go to settings-notifications-mail-customize notifications and change under badge count to all unread messages. After this, you should get the notification badge.

So after 18.2.1 didn’t fix it I walked through settings on all iPhones in our house. What I noticed is all phones that have the bug also have iCloud mail configured. The ones that are not using an iCloud email address do not have the bug. Can anyone confirm that as well?

I do not and have not used icloud for mail on my phone. Having it on or off does not fix the issue as it occurred for me right after the first 18 IOS update. I have made a post yesterday sharing my discussions with Apple yesterday about the problem.

Seriously, Apple is playing such games when I went to the genius bar and told them that I was having the issue with the no sound the genius told me yeah it’s even happening to her phone so when I follow up and call up Apple support they make like they don’t even know what I’m talking about. I think I’m done with Apple. It cost too much money to get jerked around.

Apple support informs this is a known issue being worked on. For now, the solution is to 'Force restart' on iPhone (current models: briefly press up volume then down volume briefly then hold in power until Apple logo appears). This fixed it for me but I suspect may only be a temporary fix until we get an update!

I too am having a problem with email notifications in the Apple Mail app. I get no badges no banners and no notification sounds. When I open the Mail app it connects to the server and downloads whatever Email is there, but it doesn’t do it in the background on its own, even though push notifications are turned on. I spent an hour or two with tech-support on it with no resolution. They had to escalate the ticket, but I haven’t heard back yet. I don’t remember this issue happening with the Gmail app.. I start using the Mail app because with the update is actually become functional.

My issue is the the notification number not disappearing after I have opened the new email or marked an email as read… the number just sits there until I delete the email (sometimes that doesn’t fix it either)

so far the new mail app has been nothing but frustrating
