Mail Notifications Broken on iOS 18.2?

Is anyone else having issues with Mail notifications on iOS 18.2? I'm only getting notification badges—no banners or notifications on the lock screen. I've double-checked my settings and even disabled notification categories, but still no luck. Screenshots of my settings are included. Any ideas?

Settings > Notifications > Mail > Customize Notifications. Then select each account individually. For me the “Alerts” option was turned off for all my accounts (even after removing and adding them again so this seems to be default behavior ???). You can do this while having primary inbox turned off and it still works.

Infuriating to say the least.

Saw this online :

Following the iOS 18.2.1 update, many users are reporting email glitches on their iPhones, including issues like emails not loading properly, incorrect categorization of messages, missing emails, problems sending or receiving mail and not getting notifications (badges & sounds) likely due to bugs introduced in the new Mail app features within the update; if you're experiencing email issues after updating, check your account settings, try restarting your phone, and if the problem persists, consider contacting Apple.

I’ve done all of the above and STILL no fix. It’s been months..

GREAT JOB APPLE! 👏👏👏

Hello, awhile ago I submitted questions about my iPad, 7th generation because after update 18, I was no longer receiving any of the notifications for Mail

and especially for me, the sounds.

well, I am not sure of any literal connection to my problem, but, and am keeping my fingers crossed, with the update 18.4 voila! I am receiving all of the notifications for Mail.

however, I think I mentioned this earlier, after update 18, I was also not receiving notifications for Text messages and again, especially no sound notification assigned to text notifications. That issue was not resolved by/from update 18. Will keep fingers crossed for more updates.

18,4 was my introduction to the new forms, if you will, with respect to mail ( categories, etc.) for me there no issue

thank you

Yes, it now wakes the phone to notify me with the email. Prior to enabling Remind Me and Primary Inbox, I would only hear a sound (I do not have haptics enabled)--but that isn't acceptable if you're away from the phone. Now, with a simple tap, I can see the email on the screen (like Messages) without having to unlock the phone.

This is driving me nuts. In IOS18.2, the unread badges in Mail only shows the priority emails. I’ve gone to settings-notifications-mail-customise notifications and changed under badge count to ‘all unread messages’. It still only shows the priority unread count. I do have multiple inboxes but that shouldn’t matter. I’ve rebooted my iPhone 15 pro and now updated to 18.2.1. I still can’t get the badges to show all unread emails. It’s really annoying. I may need to bin the new category feature and revert to list as I fear missing crucial emails.

I’m thinking the same thing; time to stop buying iPhones and time to stop updating every time they scare us with security updates needed.

I’ve been an Apple customer since the first iPhone came out but now after the three, the four the six the eight the X and now 15 and two iPads purchases since the start of Apple IOS products; these constant glitches with their updates, I am frustrated. This will be my last iPhone. I have experienced everything that everyone’s talking about with the notifications and alerts not working since IOS 18.2-18.3 updates. I’ve tried absolutely everything to fix this and I even spoke with Apple. They said they were working on it when I had 18.2 then they did the next update 18.2.1 and it did not get fixed. Then the 18.3 thing, and if anything it’s made it worse…. Fraggle Rock!!! Now when I thought I did fix the alert sound issue by turning off Primary notifications, the sound alert works but now the lock screen no longer show's. Are thwy APPLE wants to or has hacked into our phones and are deliberately messing things up so that we run off and buy the newest phone with the A I feature. I suspect that is why my 15 is not working well as I believe the updates are curtailed for the AI phones.

18.3 did not fix it. It is worse now. I have iPhone 15.
