Apple Intelligence using Clean Up on Photos app

very disappointing results using Clean Up to remove unwanted text on pictures. Apple warns that using the tool on faces can result in pixellation. I'm finding that the tool does this on anything not in the background. The old tool that Clean Up replaces (used it 1000s of times but the name escapes me) did a remarkable job removing unwanted artifacts overlaying the image beneath. Now all I get is a region of pixellated squares on top of the area being edited. I can reduce the size of the tool but that just results in smaller pixel squares. I'm continuing to play with it but really missing the older tool.
