iOS 18 Photos Text Color Issue

You are a legend! I couldn't tell why it would let me choose the color of my texts sometimes like it was hit and miss. Turns out I used the eraser right before hand but I just never noticed that was what was allowing me to change the text color. Just tested exactly what you said it works every time now, thank you very much!

Apple you guys need to fix that problem ASAP though as we shouldn't have to do any "work-arounds" for features that have been apart of IOS for years.

I'm not only having a problem changing text color but with all text edits. The menu box won't stay open. Here's a screen capture. I reported the issue at the product feedback page and suggest everyone do the same. Here's the link: Product Feedback - iOS and iPadOS Apps - Photos

To change text color: tap/click on the text until you get a menu that allows you to “Select All”, select the text then another menu will appear that allows you to “Format” then “More”. Another menu will pop up that shows the color wheel on the right and allows you to change the selected text color. It may take some practice to remember the steps

I think the best thing you can do is send a bug report directly to Apple, for the techs to start working on a fix. Just google ‘iphone feedback’ and fill out the form.

Looks like they finally FIX the problem on mark up. I can now change the color and font.

This helped me tons! Thank you ImagineHobbes! I found there to be less steps involved (maybe has been updated since?)…when i tapped the plus sign to ‘add text’ the text box is highlighted (bounding box) and the contextual menu automatically appears above it. I selected the ‘Aa’ and all the options appeared: text sizing, color, etc. Hope that helps!

This does not always work. After rebooting, it may be yes, but only the first couple of times and only if you change the text color. But if you actively start using all the tools in a jumble, then the color selection window and the font selection window and the Aa button in general stop working (it all depends on how actively and diversely you use image markup)

Report it here so they actually have someone on that team read about the problem. I just reported almost the same issue.
