iOS 18 Photos Text Color Issue

WORK AROUND…🤷‍♀️ but worked ..Choose a markup tool. Tap the pencil; change color, next draw something & save; go out revert to original; back in same photo & add text & change color worked ✌️💙

The workaround suggested by Ecran bleu works on my iPhone as well. In case anyone missed it, it is to choose eraser before adding text or shape.

I have an iPhone 16 Pro. I was experiencing the exact same glitch in mark up with changing text colour on photos.

The update to 18.1 also did not fix the problem for me.

Updating to 18.2 just now fixed it for me.

Give it a try and hopefully it works.

THIS WORKS!! Soon as you click on Markup , then tap the eraser, and then tap the image. It reset my text color editor settings. Idk how or why but it worked!

Moondawg86, do these steps below. It's a permanent fix and only needs to be done once:

• Open your photo and click the 'edit' icon.
• Click the "markup" icon at top-right (looks like the tip of a pen).
• Select the pencil-eraser icon at the bottom.
• Tap your photo.

Now you should be able to click the + icon and add text, change font colors, and edit normally.

18.0 - stopped working

18.0.1 - worked

18.1 - didn’t work

18.2 - still hasn’t work (in photo’s app) (although, the only work around I found was, if you use notes app, take a pic in notes, adjusting the text color will work there… still doesn’t solve the problem. Only a work around)

Try “Photo Vault”, icon has a file folder with a key on it, not only can it securely save your photos and videos with a separate password protection or PIN number, you can do editing and markup inside the app in their built in editor, organize stuff into folders, transfer files over the WiFi to a computer through a browser on your computer, etc… there’s a free version with ads, ad free is a few bucks one time, then premium with cloud storage and a bunch of extra features is a monthly fee.

So, weird thing, apparently on my phone this glitch may be tied to having the highlighter tool selected before I create the text box and try to change the color? I selected the eraser tool and suddenly now I can change the color… still buggy though, the menu doesn’t come back up at the bottom once I tap off the text most of the time…

I just got the 18.2 update, and it’s actually working again.

For now.

Agreeee with the comments below!! 👇🏾 Hit the eraser ✏️ first and all the problems go away. I can color my font 🩷❤️🩵💚🧡🖤
