Siri not responding on iPhone 16 Pro Max

Same problem here with iPhone 16 Pro Max (iOS 18.0.1).

The only way to fix it (temporarily because it stops working again) is to reboot the iPhone.

No, actually have you tried restarting the iPhone?

Try reloading the voice. In fact, switch the voice to something else then reload the voice you want.

Reset the Siri dictation history and it starts working mines been working for a few days now! So that’s the problem! Everyone pls do this now. Worked for me!

Apple released a software update and it's now working!! Fingers crossed Siri stays working!!

Same with mine. Only does it when AI features are turned on. As soon as. I turn off AI & Chat GBT features Siri works like normal. It’s annoying!

I just turned off my Apple Intelligence, and now I can hear Siri‘s voice when I ask hey Siri

Hi Everyone - I have the iphone 16 pro max and was having the same issue. I had to do the similar trouble shooting checking off 'hey siri' from the settings>siri>talk to siri but also disabling 'press side button for siri'

Now its working. Hopefully there's an update soon

-Solution that worked for me- after doing the prompts in “Siri” or ”Hey Siri” and noticing it wouldn’t work still, I tried just the “Hey Siri” prompts and it’s worked pretty well since. I’m sure they’ll fix it in an iOS update.

I tried all the above i contacted apple support through chat and they did the diagnostic and the hardware is fine so they suggested to book appointment with the bar at apple store,

siri only works with voice commands when i restart the iphone and it’s temporarily solution it freezes again

This is what I did to make it work. Settings -> Siri -> Talk to Siri -> Press side button for Siri, turn this off. This will turn the side button press off and it will work handsfree with “Hey Siri”.

I think Apple intentionally did this to see how many people use Siri and don’t use Siri all day long a and the fix is the update because everything else that I tried like turning off dictation history for work temporarily but the update apparently has been working. perfect now get 18.1 iOS

every iPhone from 3GS and I’m really thinking about leaving however I have an ultra 2 iPad 13 pro iMac home hub MacBook iPad mini and the OS on them all compared to an S25 ultra with Gemini AI seems 10 years behind as for the Siri issue

1. Go to Settings > Siri (or Apple Intelligence & Siri).
2. Tap Talk to Siri, then tap Off.
3. Turn on “Siri” or “Hey Siri” again, then follow the onscreen instructions.

Turn on assistive touch ,click the dot now on your screen and press Siri
