Outlook.com issues after iOS 18 update

I saw this happening in the past too.

Outlook.com is not working properly after iOS 18 update.

I tried this with Safari and Chrome on iPhone 14

  • Login is possible.
  • Reading a message is possible.
  • Browsing folders and its messages is possible.
  • Writing a new message is possible.

  • Refreshing the page sometimes won’t work
  • It throws a random error and forces you to close the session and start again.

  • Responding a message won’t work.
  • Forwarding a message won’t work.
  • Moving a message to a folder won’t work.

For the 3 above, the page just quickly refreshes or creates a non-stop looping and finally throws an error.

Issue is between iOS and Outlook.com (it also won’t work with the Outlook app).

Clearing cache, restarting, etc (all basic troubleshooting) didn’t help.

I’m capable to manage my mail (responding messages) only while using Outlook.com on my PC.

Something similar like this happened in the same phone, with other iOS update (16 something…)

Anyone facing the same?

iPhone 14, iOS 18

Have had the same problem since I updated to ios18 I’m not impressed as I’ve never had this problem before apple needs to get an update out asap.

Hi Laure,

Thanks for the tip, but I wanted to bring awareness to Apple and its developers for those using their access to Outlook.com over browsers.

I can give a try, and follow your suggestion, just for the sake of testing the Mail app, but it’s not an option for me to use apps to manage my emails.

As a reminder, I did give a try on installing the Outlook app: after confirmation that issues were observed there as well, I simply uninstalled the app. As simple as that.

: )

I sincerely hope any hot-fix from Apple will be released anytime soon and lots of people using browser as primary mean of access to Outlook.com will get that smile in their faces back.

Having also Gmail and Yahoo email accounts being accessed over browser (Safari and Chrome) the issue is not observed with those mail providers. This is just an additional comment over my first post.

Take care.

My specific issue has been RESOLVED!!

When transfering my iPhone 13 to my iPhone 16, I have VPN services on. Turning it off would only come back on automatically! Here's my reply post on Apple Community. If you cannot get some APPs to install on new iPhone and iOS 18, this might be the problem. It was absolutely my problen and is now solved.

Remove your present email from Mail and re-enter it using the appropriate option. With that being said if it is a Hotmail or Outlook email try using the Outlook.com option. If that doesn't work try the Microsoft Exchange option. If that still doesn't work about the only alternative you have is to download the Outlook app from the app store and use that for Microsofts email be they Outlook, Hotmail or MSN
