Journal app - how to share or print

I would also LOVE to be able to print from the new Journal App feature. I really only started using it thinking that I could print into a book. I’ve been using it to document my baby’s moments that I would like to share via printed form

I had an amazing day that I thought I would write up in the Journal app. So disappointed that I can’t print, share or print all the stuff I wrote. This needs fixing asap.

I went of a 6 week trip of a lifetime and was religious about posting my activities everyday. I "ASSUMED" that I would be able to print it once I returned home. I guess I was wrong. So disappointing. I should never had kept my special memories on the Apple Journal App. :(

I second the idea of being able to print my journal. Eventually, it will become a memory keep sake for future generations of my descendants.

I’ve added to the upgrade request as the journal is actually pointless without at least a share option.

agree. A print, download, email or import/export option for Journal entries should be made available. I hope it will be included in the next iOS softwate update.

Why would you introduce a new app that is very, very popular and severely limit its use, and instead promote another app?

I had posted my opinion of The Journal on April 11th. I was just experimenting with trying to find a way to print my daily journal entries from my "6 week trip of a lifetime". If you go to a daily entry, click on the 3 dots at the bottom right, hit edit, then press on your entry. It will highlight a word then it will say "Cut, Copy, Paste", which you can drag the purple shadow over the entire text...then hit copy. Then, paste it into a word document. I had to do this 42 times for 42 days in chronological order in my Word Doc!!!! But, it worked. Better yet and I can't explain why, every once in a while, I would touch the screen and instead of just "Cut, Copy, Paste", miraculously the word "SELECT ALL" would appear. This made copying so much easier. It's time consuming but I was able to print out my entire journal. Yippee!

I am also very frustrated. I have been promoting this app to many people since start using it. Now, how can I guarantee all the effort i had will be kept for the future? At least they should give us a timeframe for solving the problem. Or it is their strategy to keep us imprisoned in iphone?

Meanwhile, there are lots of much more mature journaling apps that will do exactly what you want. I suggest DayOne. It will allow you to order printed books of your journal entries.

They must include the ‘shared journal feature’ like ‘shared album’ feature in Photos app. So we can share the journals to our family. Also they must allow us to create multiple journals. I don’t know Apple has any plan to update the app in the near future. Otherwise we will forced to use other journaling apps. But I really don’t want to spend money on everything I use.

I have decided to use my note app therefore I will be able to print my journal entries. I will screenshot the entries that I’ve written in the journal app and move them to the “ My Journal “ page in my note app. When I print them I will use stickers and drawings to illustrate them in my actual journal book.

No one here knows the reasons behind what Apple does or does not do. Or when they will make changes. You can let them know your thoughts here:

Meanwhile, take a look at some of the hundreds of other journaling apps available in the App Store. Or just use Notes.

I have never introduced an app of any kind. I flunked the programming class I took in college.

I recommend the app I use and like. Take the recommendation or don't.
