Connecting to Apple TV With security key’s not working?

Unable to update Apps nor able to login to Apple

One can go to Settings > Users and Accounts > [signed out user] > Update Apple ID Settings and then one is presented with an option to "Update your Apple ID" with one of your devices. In my case I see an "Update with iPhone" button. The sign in page should take you here after the error above but instead it leaves you totally stranded without even a suggestion of what to do.

  • Sign in with your Apple ID on a new device or on the web
  • Reset your Apple ID password or unlock your Apple ID
  • Add additional security keys or remove a security key

Keep your security keys in a safe place, and consider keeping a security key in more than one place. For example, keep one key at home and one key at work. If you're traveling, you might want to leave one of your security keys at home."
