I turned on iCloud sync for notes on my iPad when I realized it wasn't on. All of my iPhone notes showed up on my iPad, but my iPad notes DISAPPEARED. They are GONE. HELP!

This happen to me 5 minutes ago and its my class notes that disappear and I have nothing to study for the coming up exams in 3 days. I have no any other backup too. Please does anyone know how to recover them? All I wanted to create a back up of my notes in iPad in my iPhone. This is just absurd.

Yes! contact Apple Support and they will retrieve them.
Contact Apple Support. I had the same issue and they actually retrieved the notes. They appeared again on my phone.

I had similar issue of disappearing notes from my iPad when I synced the notes to iCloud. Please Apple support kind help retrieve those notes, as they were valuable resource notes taken in my class
Just had this issue head of it had me erase my iPad then head of IT told me “oops” it was stored on local memory and it’s lost forever now because you erased it
What happens when you get told to erase the iPad and start over. Because it’s gone fr now
I lost all the last months data, which is a LOT. In Israel the Apple service caused me to lose everything and they didn’t take ANY responsibility, very disappointing

Same issue here - synchronising with iCloud meant losing all locally stored files. Without warning. Support desk can't help. Unacceptable and extremely costly bug - needs to be fixed!!
Just happened to me too, I followed another community leader instructions to toggle iCloud sync on and off now the most important notes are all gone.
