Update 16.1.1 photos gone

After updating my phone to 16.1.1 my photos are now gone in text messages. I do not have iCloud set up. Is there a way to obtain these back?

More photos will be shown once messages finishes indexing. When I checked for texted photos in Photos in text message I get this notification "More photos will be shown once messages finishes indexing." I did a full backup from my Iphone 12 on my PC and I did a restore on my new Iphone 15. Can anyone tell me how to retrieve my missing photos?

Generally you would restore from your iCloud/itunes backup, since you don't have one then there is no recovery.
