iCloud subscription

Why is it that there is a big jump in iCloud subscription from 200 gb to 2 tb? Why not 1 tb for people like me who just use it for family photos snd done video clips. I’ve reached my 200 gb limit but now Apple is asking me to upgrade to 2 tb at $9.99 per month? I can only afford to add $2 to my current $2.99 with my small monthly seniors stipend.
