Contacts APP crashed ands wont restart on MacBook Pro 16
Hi Jeff - I eventually found a solution for me and repost here for others.
Restore CONTACTS App
First Option:
First - QUIT the Contacts App (if it is already activated)
Then,
On the FINDER Menu Bar - go to “GO” (in the top menu field)
On the GO dropdown list find Go To Folder
Before selecting the Go To Folder option, hold down the OPTION key (it will allow opening of previously hidden selections)
Find and select ~Library/Application Support/AddressBook/
Find the 3 files:
And move them to the TRASH folder
Close everything, reboot the laptop and select the Contacts ICON - everything should now work again!
Option 2 - after trying option 1
Click once on the Desktop, click Go in the menubar.
Select Go To Folder.
Enter this text.
~/Library/Preferences
Click on Go.
A new Finder window will open with the Preferences folder highlighted.
Scroll down until you get to
com.apple.AddressBook.plist
Move this file to your Trash.
Restart our mac.
Open the Contacts app, it should now displaying correctly.
If when in the Preferences folder you see any files that have a random
alphanumeric sequence after the plist extension that is another indication
of file corruption and these should be moved to the Trash and the mac restarted.
