ipod nano unable to be ejected via itunes

I have an ipod nano 7th gen and today when i tried to eject it from itunes on my macbook pro, itunes came up with a box saying it can't be ejected as files were in use somewhere else.

i did some searching and attempts at figuring it out but now i'm at a loss. Everything is up to date and i'm using High Sierra OS

The only way that i can currently eject my ipod is if i do it through finder, which seems to eject it just fine.

This is the first time ever in the 12 years of owning ipod nanos that this has happened.

HELP!!!!
