Re: "So I have automatic app updates enabled on my iPhone. Though, every day I'm opening the app store and click on my profile and swipe down in order for it to find if there any new updates."
If you would rather have app store notify you when an update is available, automatic updates would need to be off.

"I was wondering though, if i do not scroll myself, how often and when will it check if there are new app updates?"
Sorry I don't know for sure. We are all Apple users, like yourself, in the community.
Apple support's onlne article (link below) contains some info about both automatic and manual app updates.
How to manually update apps from the App Store - Apple Support
Eg: says:
"Turn automatic app updates on or off
If you prefer to manually update all your apps, turn off automatic updates. When you do this, you receive notifications from the App Store each time an update for one of your apps is released.
How to turn automatic app updates on or off on your iPhone or iPad
- Go to Settings > Apps > App Store.
- Turn App Updates on or off."
and
"How to manually update apps on your iPhone or iPad
- Open the App Store.
- Tap the My Account button
or your photo at the top of the screen. - Scroll down to see pending updates and release notes. Tap Update next to an app to update only that app, or tap Update All."
