I need to copy and paste formula WITHOUT changing the text

There weren't enough rows in the spreadsheet my work uses for payroll. So I added rows using copy/paste, then continued filling it all in, but none of the rows I added have the formula in the TOTAL column, only the text. When I tried to copy/paste, it changed all the text too. Is there a way to add the formula to the rows I added without also changing everything I've already filled out?

Thanks

Without knowing what you copied, or where you pasted, it's hard to diagnose your question.

But, in short, if you copied a series of rows that includes cells with formulas (such as your column J), those formulas should remain in the pasted content. Without knowing what you copied, or what's in the pasted cells, it's almost impossible to tell what's wrong.

The big questions, therefore, are a) what is in column J in the pasted rows? and b) what should be in there.

Looking at your screenshot, it looks like column J should sum various values based on the checkboxes in C/D and the TRUE/FALSE settings in F/G.

Assuming the formula in J21 is correct, you can just click that cell. When you hover over it, you should see a little yellow dot in the bottom of the cell border. You can click this and drag down to copy that cell's formula into the cells below.
