iMessages to phone number not syncing to Mac

Since updating to the latest update 15.3.2 to Mac and iOS 18.3.2, iMessages from SMS or phone numbers are not syncing between iPhone and Mac. They are received on the iPhone but not on the Mac. Also 2FA codes sent for accessing websites on web using Safari are not received.

How do I fix this?

I had this same problem. I fixed it by signing out of iMessage on my Mac and then signing back in.
