After updating iOS to 18.1.1, the mail app is not working. It is totally malfunction and can’t receive nor send email. Start the mail app, it just pops up a white screen. I have tried to offload the app and reinstall it. It’s the same. When I hard reset the phone, it can pop up the mail account list but freezes. How do I fix it?

My yahoo mail and iCloud are not working since upgrade to IOS 18.1.1 I’ve restarted phone, and no email is downloading! How do I fix without a complete reboot that will lose all my saved data?

Well, “not working properly” could mean dozens of things. Before anyone can help you need to be MUCH more specific about what is not working property.
I have tried this numerous times after the update to no avail. I thought I'd search to see if there were any new solutions posted, and saw this, so I thought I would try again. It WORKED!! Thanks!!!
well, like everyone here, i'm soooo frustrated! My emails are constantly giving me account errors or connection to server failed. i cannot find my list of email accounts so i can check the passwords..... I HATE THE UPDATES!!! THEY CAUSE SO MUCH FRUSTRATION AND WASTED TIME!! COME ON APPLE

There will be no fix because nothing is broken; there is a problem with your email account.
First, Do you have a 3rd party VPN installed, even if you are not using it? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. If that fixes it, you can try reinstalling VPN.
Next, if that doesn’t fix it go to Settings/Apps/Mail/Accounts, tap on the account and delete it. Then add it back. Before doing that go to your mail provider’s website Support and it will have instructions on how to install your mail account on and iPhone.
It’s not 3rd party email provider. All kinds of people are having the same issue regardless of their provider. I have multiple email providers, and they’re all experiencing the same issue. It But worked fine until the update.
I see these comments starting back in November 2024 and here it is February 2025 and I just got the iPhone 16 Pro Max and I’m extremely disappointed with all the app mess. There is going on here. I wanna go back to my iPhone 13 Pro at least it was all pulled together.
Tried it unfortunately that didn’t help me either. I still am constantly getting a message. That’s indicating that it’s not communicating with the exchange or something. I did not get all of these messages every single day before the update. I reboot in my phone several times. It’s gotta be the iPhone because my Microsoft computer works just fine, but having to go to my laptop computer to read emails is getting a bit frustrating. Apple just doesn’t seem to take any of these things seriously because there are so many people complaining about the same thing and yet what is Apple doing?

The I suggest reading the thread you posted to, which explains all of the new mail options. Or switch to a 3rd party mail app; there are many.
I will not go with apple anymore - after every update something is not working
now its the email - just disappears at a click - does not load properly - just terrible - apple you should give to everyone who has a problem after a update a new phone or at least instructions how to fix the problem

My gmail is not working. I cannot receive emails. I cannot reset password because it is connected to old phone. I need access to my emails, has anyone found a solution?
Just finished the password reset and my email works again. Login thru a different method and change your password. Then change the password on your phone and it should fix it
Brutal. Welcome to Microsoft updates that shuts stuff off with out a fix. IOD 18.1.1 update and Shaw won’t download messages. I expected
more from Apple but maybe time to go back to Samsung
