Sleep timer not available on podcasts app when streaming to HomePod.

When using AirPlay with my HomePod mini the sleep timer is greyed out on podcast app and won’t let me set it. Is there any way around this?

Would love not to have to yell at Siri across the room when going to bed.

How to set a sleep timer on the iPhone when streaming Podcast to HomePod? When I start an Apple Podcast from my iPhone, and AirPlay to the HomePod, the Sleep Timer option is greyed-out. I understand that a Sleep Timer was built into the HomePod with OS 13.2. While I appreciate that this option was added, I don’t think it should replace the option to do it from the phone. The problem is that if you’re already initiating something manually from your phone, it is clunky to have to verbally say a separate Siri command. Especially, since I normally listen to podcasts while I go to sleep, and I don’t want to start giving voice commands. iPhone 11 Pro - iOS 13.4.1 HomePod - OS 13.4

Issues playing podcasts on HomePod with sleep timer and playback position iPhone 12 Pro (iOS 14.2) HomePod mini (OS 14.2) Playing Podcasts on the HomePod via the iPhone seems to be fundamentally broken: Issue #1 - When you start a podcast on the iPhone, and then stream it to the HomePod, you lose the ability to set a Sleep Timer within the podcasts app (it’s greyed out). And if you set a sleep timer on the phone first, then stream to HomePod, the sleep timer is cancelled, and it never stops playback. Issue #2 - When I start a podcast from the iPhone, stream to HomePod, it does not save my progress. E.g. stream to HomePod starting at 5:00, then switch back to iPhone after listening for a few minutes, and it will go back to the same point the phone left off (5:00). Issue #3 - Even weirder, when I switch to HomePod via the podcasts app, sometimes the artwork even changes (to an old version). This is just to illustrate how broken it is, doesn’t really affect anything. Can others confirm they see the same behavior in Issues #1 and #2? I either have to ditch the HomePod or the Apple Podcasts app. Makes no sense since these are the native apps/products and should be seamless.

HomePod now playing prevents resuming a podcast on iPhone After the iOS 14.5 update, my iPhone 12 Pro Max shows what is playing on the HomePod in my house, and if I want to resume a Podcast on my iPhone, I can't. In the podcast app, at the bottom, where you would start playing the current episode, it shows what's playing on the HomePod. I have to stop the HomePod (that my kids are listening to), then I can start my podcast on the phone, then restart the HomePod. Is this a wide-spread bug (or "feature") or is it just me?
