How to set a sleep timer on the iPhone when streaming Podcast to HomePod?

When I start an Apple Podcast from my iPhone, and AirPlay to the HomePod, the Sleep Timer option is greyed-out.

I understand that a Sleep Timer was built into the HomePod with OS 13.2. While I appreciate that this option was added, I don’t think it should replace the option to do it from the phone. The problem is that if you’re already initiating something manually from your phone, it is clunky to have to verbally say a separate Siri command. Especially, since I normally listen to podcasts while I go to sleep, and I don’t want to start giving voice commands.

I know. I think the behavior started when they added Sleep Timer on the HomePod. Funnily enough I switched to a Sonos One because of this, but then I forgot why I had switched and just bought another HomePod on sale... I guess it depends on your use, but to me it’s a big deal. 50% of my use is probably using it to listen to podcasts when I sleep (so the sleep time is important to me).

I just tried your suggestion. Sadly when I switched to the HomePod, it cancelled the sleep timer on my phone.
