What is the right model MacBook for me?
I only need it for student study and streaming video. I don’t need anything high end with all the bell and whistles.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by streaming videos? Are you just going to be on YouTube, Disney+, Hulu, etc.?
If you’re just using Safari you do not need to upgrade the RAM. I would personally only upgrade the RAM if you’re going to be doing intense tasks like coding/programming, video/photo editing, using intensive programs.
For storage, it depends on your needs which I cannot determine for you based on your post. However, you can save to iCloud and just upgrade your iCloud storage via monthly subscriptions if you need more space.
