Wi-Fi Speed (Help me understand the varying speeds)
I have 3 Routers (Apple Airport Extreme Base Stations) all hardwired to each other.
My 100 Mbps Fiber Optic service comes from a box on the outside of my house into the attic & then down to the 1st Router into a room on that side of the house.
The Fiber Optic service comes directly to my house & is not shared with other subscribers nearby.
The 2nd Router (in a separate building in my back yard) is hardwired (underground) from the 1st Router.
Attached to the 2nd Router (all hardwired) are my Desktop Computer & 2 printers.
The 3rd Router (in my Living Room) is hardwired (through the attic) from the 1st Router.
That Router is 1 Generation newer than the 1st & 2nd Routers.
Attached to the 3rd Router is my TV (hardwired), my Security System (hardwired) and my Laptop, 2 iPhones, & 1 iPad (on Wi-Fi).
When I do a Wi-Fi Speed Test on my iPhone 14 Pro Max in my Living Room near the 3rd Router, I get a Download Speed of 94 Mbps & an Upload Speed of 93 Mbps.
When I do a Wi-Fi Speed Test on my Laptop in my Living Room near the 3rd Router, it shows a speed of 433.3 Mbps (on only a 100 Mbps service).
When I do a Wi-Fi Speed Test on my iPhone 14 Pro Max near the 1st Router, I get a Download Speed of only 37 Mbps & an Upload Speed of 83 Mbps.
When I do a Wi-Fi Speed Test on my iPhone 14 Pro Max near the 2nd Router, I get a Download Speed of only 36 Mbps & an Upload Speed of 80 Mbps.
When I do a Wi-Fi Speed Test on my Desktop hardwired to the 2nd Router, it shows a speed of 1.2 Gbps.
Question is: Why such drastic speed variations?
