Multi-gig WIFI is Slower on iOS devices than an Android Devices - WHY?
I recently purchased and installed a new multi-gig WiFi 6 certified router in my home office. I have 1.2 Gigabit service through my ISP, and my new router has a 2.5 gigabit WAN port, enabling me to take full advantage of my ISP's speed. Following a thorough internet speed test on all my workstations and wireless devices via Ookla speedtest.net, I can confirm that I am receiving an expected ~950 Mbps speed through my Ethernet connections. Surprisingly, I am obtaining a remarkable 1.4 Gbps speed via WiFi on my Android devices. However, on my iOS devices, such as the iPad Air 5th generation and iPhone 13 Pro Max, the WiFi speed tops out at around 695-700 Mbps.
Despite contacting the router's technical support line and exhausting all possible wireless router settings to improve WiFi speeds, I am still receiving just under 700 Mbps download speeds on my iOS devices while standing just five feet away from the router. Moreover, I have thoroughly reviewed and applied all the Apple recommended WiFi settings (Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202068) without success. I have also completely reset Network Settings on my iOS devices, without success.
I am baffled as to why there is such a significant difference in WiFi speeds between my Android and iOS devices. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any solutions?
