Can Apple Vision Pro be controlled completely through eye movement?

Can Apple Vision Pro be controlled completely through eye movement? A friend of ours with ALS is rapidly losing her ability to move her hands. This would be her only way to communicate.

As mentioned, Dwell Control can work here.

It is great for almost every aspect of navigation and control.

I experienced only one drawback, which was while watching a show.

Just looking at the center of the screen, while watching the content, the Dwell Control kept kicking in and putting up an overlay with information about the show, and the playback / scrubbing controls were showing at the bottom.

The controls came up every 1-second, which matches the delay I had set for the Dwell Control to kick in.

Very distracting to have those controls up, coming and going, while just trying to enjoy the show.

It wasn't a deal breaker, but a small enhancement, could help here.

Like have an easy toggle by looking up to the top, next to the control center, specifically for toggling Dwell Control off and on. Start the show, look up to temporarily turn off Dwell, enjoy the show, then lookup up and re-enable Dwell (that one control would need to honor the Dwell even while Dwell Control is temporarily off everywhere else).

Another solution might be to utilize this other accessibility feature to toggle the Dwell Control off and on:

Control Apple Vision Pro by making sounds - Apple Support

It might take a custom action to toggle Dwell off/on. I will explore this some more when Apple fixes the general issue with Sound Control that I am having.

Hello L.Shaner!

[The controls constantly coming up while watching] wasn't a deal breaker, but a small enhancement, could help here.

You can recommend this to Apple on the Apple Vision Pro Feedback page.

Hello Dave_PL!

Yes! Apple Vision Pro can be used through ONLY eye movement. Using Apple Vision Pro's Dwell Control. With Dwell Control, a menu appears. By performing an extended gaze at the menu, it expands and reveals four modes: tap, long press, scroll, and drag. In tap mode, you can perform an extended gaze at anything to perform a tap, such as a button or link. In long press mode, you can perform an extended gaze to long press. It is the same in the other mode.

I hope this helps, and your friend can use this to communicate and do much more!

Can Apple Vision Pro be controlled completely through eye movement?
