The job could not be submitted because the cluster could not be found

I cannot use Compressor 4.6.4 on an M2 MacBook Pro running macOS Ventura 13.4. I always get an error message that "The job could not be submitted because the cluster could not be found." I have followed the advice on Apple Support and on No cluster found - Apple Community and the problem persists.

Can anyone offer advice?

Thank you in advance.

I suppose you did this already, but just to be sure: did you delete Compressor preferences?

Hold down command and option when starting Compressor, and in the dialog that appears, click Delete Preferences.

Yes, also deleted its ~/Library/Applications/ folder, ran Digital Rebellion's Compressor Repair Utility.

In my case, it turned out that having a VPN connection away from work was the issue. Back on my home network, it no longer runs into that error.

Thank you for your post.
