My iPhone 12's screen is bulging and smells like acetone

I got this phone for christmas in 2021 and I recently noticed some discoloration on the right side of my screen followed by a strong but somewhat sweet smell of nail polish remover. After taking the case off I realized the screen was raised. Could this be related to a battery issue and is it serious?

Do not charge your phone.
