iOS 16 - Auto shuffle car music

I've searched for an answer for weeks and I'm losing my mind. Ever since iOS16 came out, my phone no longer auto shuffles when I connect it to my car. I drive an older 2012 Honda Civic and it doesn't support Car Play so I connect it via USB cord. Every time I did this, it would auto shuffle my music which I enjoyed. Ever since the iOS16 update, it no longer does this. Every time I connect my phone, it starts at the very first alphabetical song. I've gone in each time to select "shuffle", but it resets each time I disconnect my phone. It drives me absolutely insane to hear the first 10 seconds of the same song each time I turn on my car until I get a chance to hit shuffle. How do I fix this?! I truly hate everything about iOS16.

Hello RE2LeonS,

The steps below may help to further isolate that behavior:

1. Restart your device and your car.

2. Make sure that your device is unlocked and on the Home screen.

3. If possible, try to connect using another cable or USB port. Check the manual that came with your car to learn how to connect an Apple device.

4. Check your charging port for any debris or damage. Make sure that your charging cable is properly inserted into the port.

5. Update your device.

6. Make sure that your stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information.
