Calendar Events Notification

I have entered hundreds of people's birthdays on my calendar. What I have noticed is that the 'alert' that is set to come up for the yearly recurring events is set to notify me the day before (which is the default, and I think is a bit stupid for a yearly event)... However, is there a quick an easy way to edit/change all of those recurring events to notify me the day of the event rather than the day before? Opening each of these and changing them is going to be really cumbersome.

You can try the following steps:

Open Settings on your iPhone
Scroll down and tap on Calendar
Tap "Default Alert Times"

If you setup the birthdays in the Contacts app, change the "Birthdays" app to "On day of event (9 AM)"

If you setup the birthdays in the Calendar app (as events) change the "Events" default time to "At time of event."

If you setup the birthdays in the Calendar app (as all-day events) change the "All-Day Events" to "On day of event (9 AM)"

After some testing it doesn't look like the current event alert times change. Granted it might need some time to update (I didn't give it long), but I did not see the alert time update unless I created a whole new event after changing the setting. You'd have to go into each event and change them individually.

Thank you, that is helpful. However, my question is this... Does changing that setting work retroactively (in that it will now start alerting me to the event the day of) or is it only for events that are made now going forward? If the latter, then that doesn't solve the problem...

Ugh, that is going to be incredibly problematic, but I do appreciate the attempt and the look. If anyone knows of a way to do this (if one exists), please let me know. I can't see going into each and changing this hundreds of times. Talk about insanity.
