How do I know whether the SMC reset worked or not?

My battery is an indication that the charger is plugged in even when it's not. Because of this, I am also unable to charge my laptop unless I force a restart while the charger is plugged in. I have tried resetting the SMC but the problem persists. How can I verify if the SMC reset was successful?

Hi,

Try to check your MacBook Pro with Apple Diagnostics if it reports battery or power related error.

Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac - Apple Support

Apple Diagnostics reference codes - Apple Support

If it reports error or not, you'd better make Genius Bar reservation if there is retail AppleStore located near you or find local Apple Authorized Service Provider to be examined your MacBook Pro there.
