The ambiguous bar for the current day alludes me as well. There’s a white dot that one might assume is the current point in the day, yet here it is 715am and the dot is at the far right side of the bar. I think somebody’s annual review should reflect the poor decisions made here.

Hello. Those bars represent the temperature range for the day compared to the temperature for the rest of the week. The color represents the temperature and the length of the line represents how large the temperature range will be throughout the day.
I think that the colored portion is the range of temperatures for the day and the whole bar (colored and gray) is the range for the whole week. The color of the bar appears to change based on the temperature (warmer colors are warmer temperatures and cooler colors are cooler temperatures). If the colored bar is longer, that means that the temperature will change a lot throughout the day.
Just about to book a physics course at university for the weather app ;-)
is indeed similar like this but again - even after now severe times of looking at it - is not intuitive and giving you a '3sec' view of what's going to happen.
Most questions answered through this helpful article:
i observed now several days and can’t confirm behaviour of the bar. If above a good guess then the bar itself is guessing likewise.
crawling the web shocking to see that across the countries wild discussion about the meanings and no solidifying opinion on this bar implementation
Quite helpful article indeed ! but I could just find it as some explanation which in real practice still a rise of questions instead of answers. The bar indication for my case I might be now able to explain after reading again but still requires me to constant look up as it doesn't reflect outside reality.
I think the white dot means UV index. If you scroll down in the app the dot for UV index is the same dot that’s on the temperature line.
thanks mSilva, I think it's the first time I need an user manual on iPhone since... ever!
Jonny Ive is probably tearing his hair out now 🧑🦲😅
You just have to think of it like a mean, median, range graph, like taught in 6th grade math. Of course, I could only come to that realization after reading the article & seeing the images they used to explain it. But, I’m a middle school teacher, so I guess that’s how I made the connection.🤷♀️
Still not clear to me. Could you explain the bar for each of the days with with respect to total length of bar and colored portion length of bar. What does each length represent?
Regarding the entire bar, that is a good guess and I bet you are correct. Thanks.
I don’t think it is meant to be “intuitive”. I think it is just meant to show where in the range of temperatures for the week, the current day’s temperature range is falling. “Simple” as that, lol!😄
So funny, Thank you
