New iPad showing warranty expired

I bought a new ipad pro 9.7 yesterday. After activation, I found out that the warranty period was expired. Are they selling a reconditioned machine or a display machine?

I am in Spain, I bought it in an apple store, their official website is www.intecat.com

BTW, I can't find any information when type in my series number

Can anyone help me? Thanks a lot.

That is a reseller, not Apple itself.

Now, Apple will start the warranty period when it ships the product to the reseller. If it sits there for a long time, then the warranty can show as expired. That does not necessarily mean it is not new - you need to contact that store and, since they are an authorized reseller, they should reset the purchase date for you so you can get the warranty. If they do not wish to cooperate, make sure you have your sales receipt which includes the serial number and contact Apple and ask to reset the purchase date for your warranty.

I would also question the store about it being new - was it factory sealed? If it is not new, disregard above and simply return it for a refund. If it is not new, they need to reveal that.
