I have been converting my VHS home movies to DVD-R's on a Toshiba machine but they won't play on my apple USB superdrive - I get a message that I have inserted a blank disc.
What are my options?
MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

I used to do that a long time ago; if I remember correctly, you need to finalize them within that device’s settings using your TV. Otherwise they will only play in the device they were created with.
Is the superdrive connected directly to a port on the computer? They often do not play well when on a USB hub.
That makes sense. I thought I had done that. Is there a way to “finalize” after you have ejected the disc?
Glad to hear it worked!
