How do I uncheck the silent in lock screen option? My phone will not sound in a lock screen for notifications

If you have Do not Disturb turned off then the switch in Settings/Do Not Disturb doesn’t do anything. However, each app that has notifications can be set to alert in the lock screen or not. Go to Settings/Notifications and tap on any app that you want notifications from and check Lock Screen.

Your profile says iPad Air, but if you are asking about an iPhone and you have a paired, unlocked Apple watch notifications will sound on the watch instead of on the phone.
