Re-paired Apple Watch: App settings missing, update fails

i reset and re-paired my apple watch with my Iphone 14. When I tap the my watch icon in the apple watch app no information comes up on the existing settins , info currently on my apple watch. I paired the watch again and the iphone screen says update now. goes thru the whole upgrade process ut the upgrade doesnrt load onto the watch. the wifi provider shows that the apple watch is connected to a strong wifi signal.
