Better way to remove Eject menu?

Is there a better way to get rid of Eject from the menu bar on macOS 26? I've tried holding Command and dragging it out, which is the easiest thing to do, but every time I do this, every time I log out and log back in again (or restart the computer) it keeps coming back. I only wanted to have this thing temporarily when my USB SuperDrive started to malfunction (connected to the MacBook Air M1 through the USB to USB-C adapter), but now that I have a USB-C SuperDrive from a third-party manufacturer, I no longer want it. What can I do now?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 26.1

Open "System Settings" and scroll down the list on the left to "CDs & DVDs". This will only appear if you have an optical drive connected and turned on.

Uncheck the "Show eject in menu bar" option.
