new mac mimi pro chip m4, keeps asking for login, I keep entering it, does not accept it

Follow the directions at > If you forgot your Mac login password - Apple Support

If the Mac mini is new and that does not help, give Apple a call at 1-800-MY-APPLE (800-692-7753)
