Disappearing apps on iphone screen

I have ios 26.1 and have had no issues at all until today. Some of the apps I have are grouped together in folders and I could see which apps they were by the small icons but as of today the icons do not show, the apps are still in the folders but on my screen it just shows a large empty folder. Some of the folders only have 2-3 apps in so it is not as though they are pages after pages etc.

There are no age restrictions/screen time restrictions set so it is not that, the phone has been reset and it didn’t change anything; apps have been deleted and reinstalled and, again, the issue continues.

Any help or other suggestions would be welcome.

The folder that holds your apps has moved to the far end of the screen. Open the folder first, then swipe to the right until you see the app you’re looking for. It may just be sitting on the last page of that folder.

Please see a screen recording below where I have tested it for 27 apps. I would not like to test for 216 apps because I feel it is counter-productive when you already have the App Library.
