For the Roku issues with Apple TV that has been going on for years, review the posts here on the Roku Community where they usually involve resetting the Roku, changing the internet connection or restarting the router where the problem is resolved without a single change on Apple's end.

You can even start a Roku chat here. There was a Roku firmware update on 12/7 that has been seen to be problematic, not sure if your Roku device received that update or when:

To be honest Roku has been the most problematic platform for the Apple TV app and I am sure you are aware of that just by doing an internet search. The usual suggestion for Roku users are:

  • Delete app and reinstall.
  • Restart Toku
  • Factory Reset Roku
  • Check for firmware updates
  • Accept the privacy terms and allow Apple TV app to store data.
  • Restart Router


There has not been a single method used, but each of these have had success from what has been posted.
