do not tell me to accept this nonsense. How dare you.

To the question that you replied to about rolling back iOS, that is not an option and it never has been with any OS version. That is simply a fact.

So now that leaves you with what you want to do about it.

  • Use the link to send feedback to Apple.
  • If you are having a specific problem with the update you would like to address, then create a new post with as much details as possible.
  • If you have not updated to iOS 26.2, now is the time. The posts here are all under the 26.1 title which is no longer a version that would be troubleshooted There have been changes made that may have resolved the problem along with a number of security improvements that should not be ignored.
  • And of course if you are just not happy with your iPhone, no one would tell you that you must have it. You should always purchase a device that best meets your needs. Be aware that Android 16 was recently released that includes the same Transparency and Blur found in Liquid Glass so if that is what you do not like you should be aware that the Android phones are already using it or will be coming soon. There are some phones that have stuck with the flat UI and Jitterbug is one that I know of, but it does not have many features. It just may take a little research.

There is no rolling back of iOS.

Change is difficult to adapt to because it disrupts our comfort zones, introduces uncertainty and fear of the unknown, challenges our sense of identity, and involves letting go of the familiar. However, it's important to recognize that change is an inevitable part of life, and learning to adapt and embrace it is crucial for personal growth and development. With time, patience, and a willingness to explore new possibilities, we can navigate the difficulties of change and find ways to thrive in new circumstances.

Was/Is your device Jailbroken? If that's the situation, please be informed that attributing the issues to iOS updates may not be accurate.

The recent update has been a tragic mistake! I do NOT like having my text message open over background messages like a glass bottom boat. Most of my apps do not open which I used on a regular basis and instead I get a blank black screen. The camera icon looks like a bubble not a lens. This is a downgrade to poor functioning and unpleasant aesthetic’s. When you create the next upgrade I will be very very hesitant to accept it moving forward.

I resent the fact that we buy our phones and computers and own them but have no say so about whether we want the updates. Dear Apple, keep your updates to yourself! You are not helping us.

It is possible to prevent your iPhone from automatically updating. I did not update to iOS 17 until shortly after iOS 18 came out, and did not update to iOS 18 until shortly after iOS 26 came out. (After the second update, I believe that I may have had to once again tell the phone not to automatically update any further.)

What you can't do is selectively update – picking only the pieces of a new operating system that you like.

And in the case of iPhones and iPads, you also get cut off from intermediate updates after a while - part of Apple's strategy to "encourage" you to run the latest version of iOS / iPadOS that your device is capable of running.
