Issue Entering Non-US Phone Number at Checkout

Hi! I’m trying to buy a MacBook Air M4 on the Apple US website. I live in Argentina, but I’ll be traveling to USA in the next few days and I want to pick it up at an Apple Store. I need the Spanish–Latin American keyboard, so I’m trying to purchase it in advance.

The issue is that the website requires a US phone number and it won’t accept my Argentine number. How can I complete the purchase? Thanks in advance!

I get the impression that Apple discourages purchasing equipment in another country and this may be a way of emphasizing that.


Read the Shopping help pages thoroughly:

Shipping & Pickup - Shopping Help - Apple

says: Apple Pickup

"After you have placed a pickup order, we’ll send an email and mobile notification with a QR code when your order is scheduled to be picked up." = hence the request for a phone number. Apple does not appear to do international calling/SMS.

and: "Once your order is shipped or available for pickup, we'll send you a text message."


"You may not export any products purchased online from Apple."
