Apple Pay not an option for app purchases on iPhone 15

apple pay for app purchases . When I had an iPhone 12 I could pay for my app purchases by Apple Pay - now on my iPhone 15 it only gives me the option for purchase where I need to keep entering my password and not the Apple Pay . I have made sure all settings are correct what am I doing wrong
