My pencil is the Apple Pencil Pro.
My question is: Is there a difference in battery life between the Apple Pencil Pro and the Apple Pencil USB-C?
Note: I disabled the Find My app and the pencil's features.
I don't recall seeing a side-by-side comparison of battery performance between models of Apple Pencil. However, the Apple Pencil Pro offers additional functionality such as integration with Find My) which, inevitably, will draw more power than other models.
Consider that the Apple Pencil is designed to re-charge very quickly when docked with the host iPad. Additionally, it is generally recommended that the Apple Pencil Pro is docked with the host iPad whenever it us not being actively used - as this ensures that the Pencil's battery is optimally charged and available for immediate use whenever it is needed. By comparison, the much simpler USB-C Pencil can only be charged and the battery maintained by remembering to connect the Pencil via its charging cable to a source power.
Inductive charging provided a mechanism to keep the Pencil always ready for use. In the perhaps unlikely event of continuous use fully draining the Pencil battery, it can be quickly and easily docked for just a few moments to add significant charge before resuming activity.
In practice, if you always dock the Pencil with the iPad whenever not actively using the Pencil, it os very unlikely that the Pencil battery will ever be exhausted.
