Double Checking on How to Migrate Apple Music library from Mac mini to new Mac

Double checking how to move Apple Music from one mac to another.

I have my Apple Music Library file on a mac mini M1, with all the music (no library itl file) on an ext hdd.

I want to use a new MBA M4 for my new library, still using the ext hdd with the music.

So, I locate the Apple Music Library file on my Mac Mini, copy and paste that on a thumbstick, put it in the MBA and then paste the itl file into the Apple Music folder on the MBA.

Then, when I connect the ext hdd to the new MBA, I hold Option button down then open the Apple Music app.

What do I need to do after that? Do I need to "consolidate" the library?

That should work. No need to consolidate anything. Make sure the correct media folder location is set after opening the library for the first time on the new machine. See Move your iTunes/Music library to a new computer - Apple Community for more. You might prefer to get your active library database stored on the external hdd along with your media so that it is easier to backup and move around in future. If you haven't already done so now might also be the time to clean up any remaining cruft from your previous iTunes installations.
