How to fix 'server doesn't support password authentication' when re-installing email account on iPhone?

My calendar app was declining invitations so I deleted my email account so as to re-install it. Now, I cannot add the email account back. I get a message that the server doesn’t support password authentication. Is this an issue with the webmail server or the settings on my phone? How to resolve!?

The server would belong to webmail,

Reach out to their support or look a their help site to troubleshoot.

Or upgrade to a newer 2FA app.
