macOS Contact app breaks by itself on Tahoe 26.1

I too have an issue with Contacts. It tries to sync every 2-3 seconds with the screen flashing. Unable to add new contacts because the dialogue box for adding a new contact closes by itself during syncing. Have been on the phone 3 times with Apple Support, however this glitch still persists today. M2 MacBook Air macOS 26.1 16gb ram

They have ruined this app and there is no third-party that can replace. It is SOOO buggy. I just discovered this third issue where I couldn't drag a contact out of a group today and was scared to delete incase it was going to delete the entire record. I've written several times to feedback. It frustrates me that they care so little about this app which is literally one of the most valuable (hello, ALL our relationships!) that they don't even put on the Support menu of apps, Contacts is just lumped with "other apps and services". I'm losing my mind on these issues because I have 20K+ contacts. The other issues are: can't cut and paste from the overlay you have to go into Edit, and on iphone if you have the record checked to sort by Company you can no longer see the persons name on the first view which is the overlay, you have to go into Edit to see the person's name.

I have already reported the bugs. As a user forum, the point is to share these issues with others who may have the same experience and know they aren't crazy and that the more of us report the bugs the more likely Apple will fix.

So frustrating, had to enter more than 60 contacts one at a time by closing and reopening the app each time. What’s really bad is that there were two support phone calls and a third with level 2 tier support. Worked for a short time, unfortunately its fubar again! Also reported this on the Feedback app with no reply. 

You are not the only one. I'm on Tahoe 26.1 and the contacts app closes when I try to enter a new contact company name. Very frustrating!
